EL FESTIVAL

Craft Film Festival es el primer festival en Barcelona que da tributo a las películas con poco apoyo exterior y auto-producidas. El programa internacional será seleccionado a partir de una convocatoria online para largometrajes de ficción, para dar muestra de un abanico de trabajos con altas cualidades artísticas, con historias que atrapan, un estilo muy propio y originalidad a la hora de utilizar el audiovisual.

NUESTRA MISIÓN

El festival pretende convertirse en una plataforma de exhibición de películas independientes auto-producidas. Ofrecemos la posibilidad de que estas películas se estrenen y promocionen en la ciudad de Barcelona, por lo que queremos introducir una diversidad estética en cines locales pero también promover los espacios de networking para los creadores que reciben poco apoyo a la hora de crear sus películas. Creemos que la combinación de vocación, talento, amor por el arte y la necesidad de expresarse se merece un tributo individualizado, que este separado de los grandes festivales y los eventos de la industria. Hemos creado el Craft Film Festival para celebrar pequeñas películas con gran potencial.

¿POR QUÉ ESTE FESTIVAL?

El Craft Film Festival es un proyecto de corazón, un deber de memoria y un homenaje familiar de 2 generaciones de hombres, que en sus tiempos estaban involucrados en la creación artística. Inscrito no sólo en el pasado sino en el presente y en el futuro, para nosotros la mejor manera es crear un lugar donde aquellos que crean y los que tomaron el arte puede conectar, crear y compartir, un festival, un festival de cine. 

Es también la necesidad de crear un espacio libre, sin censuras ni limitaciones de creatividad, sin colorantes ni conservantes para una creación sin compromisos y una libertad total de los directores en sus proyectos.

SLOW IS A REVOLUTION

El Craft Film Festival es un espacio intermedio sin restricciones, promocionando la auto-producción como libertad total de creación. Hemos creado este festival para celebrer pequeñas películas con gran potencial. Basados en la cultura "slow" como alternativa al consumo cultural masivo, hemos creado este festival como incentivo para descubrir nuevos talentos artísticos y emprendedores del cine.

Este consumo excesivo nos lleva a un nuevo tipo de consumo: el "low cost". Éste tiene mala imagen, está asociado con precios bajos y productos de mala calidad, que no respetan el medio ambiente ni el comercio justo. Por eso nuestro festival es el resultado de la fusión de la economía colaborativa y nuestro respeto a la artesanía. La tendencia "slow" se abre paso a todas las áreas de producción y consumo.

La cultura "slow" es una alternativa al consumo cultural masivo y un incentivo para descubrir artistas locales e internacionales no conocidos y cine de barrio. Craft Film Festival corresponde totalmente a este nuevo movimiento.

¿QUÉ ES EL CINE ARTESANAL?

Los productos artesanales destacan por su carácter sofisticado, por la combinación de gustos dispares, por el uso de ingredientes de cualidad, su toque personal, la pasión y el talento utilizado durante el proceso de producción.

Todas estas cualidades las encontramos del mismo modo en el cine artesanal: como fruto de la pequeña producción hecha a base de taller, que muy a menudo no obtiene la ayuda de la gran industria cinematográfica, ni de las principales instituciones, pero que lucha para poder mantener su punto de vista independiente.

Artesanal significa el cine de autor por excelencia; es la obra de persones que suelen sacrificar el descanso y su vida privada por la simple necesidad de expresar aquello que no pueden dejar de explicar. La característica más importante del cine artesanal es que sale directamente del corazón, y esto no tiene precio.

Craft Film Festival is the first festival in Barcelona that pays special tribute to self-produced films with limited external support. The boutique but diverse international program selected after an open call for full-length feature films offers on display works with high artistic qualities, catching stories, distinctive style and original approach to media.

The festival aims to become an exhibition platform for self-produced, independent films. We offer the possibility of these films being released and promoted in the city of Barcelona, so we want to introduce an aesthetic diversity in local cinemas but also to promote the networking space for the creators who receive little support when creating their movies. We believe that the combination of vocation, talent, love for art and the need to express oneself deserves an individualized tribute, which is separated from the big festivals and the events of the industry. We have created Craft Film Festival to celebrate small films with great potential. 

Why this Festival? 

Craft Film Festival is a project that comes from the heart, an homage to the family memory of two generations of men, my father and my grandfather who in their times were involved with artistic creation. Inscribed not only in the past but in the present and in the future, for me this special tribute is the best way to create a place for cinema encounters between those who create and those who move art; to meet up, exchange, share a festival, a film festival. 

It is also the need to create a free space without censorship or creativity limitations, without producers nor preservatives, an event for creation without compromises which encourages absolute artistic freedom in the projects.

Slow is a Revolution 

Craft Film Festival is an intermediate space without restrictions, promoting self-production as a total freedom of creation. We have created this festival to celebrate small films with great potential. Based on “slow” culture, as an alternative to mass cultural consumption, we have created this festival as an incentive to discover new artistic talents and entrepreneurial film. 

This excessive consumption leads to a new type of consumption: “low cost”. It has a bad image, it’s associated with low prices and poor quality products that do not respect the environment or fair trade. That is why our festival is the result of the merger of collaborative economy and our respect for craftsmanship. The “slow” trend to make way for all areas of production and consumption. 

“Slow” culture is an alternative to massive cultural consumption and an incentive to discover local and international artists and not well-known cinema. Craft Film Festival completely corresponds with this new movement. 

What is Craft Cinema? 

The handcrafted products stand out because of their sophisticated character, the combination of different tastes, the use of quality ingredients, their personal touch, the passion and the talent used during the production process. 

All of these qualities are found in Craft Cinema: works of small productions that very often don’t obtain help from the large cinematographic industries, nor of the principal institutions, but that struggle to keep an independent point of view. 

Craft means the cinema of author par excellence; it is the work of people who often sacrifice sleep and a private life because of the simple need to express what they can’t help expressing. The most important feature of artisanal cinema is that it comes directly from the heart, and this is priceless.
